the wait of glory

the wait of glory

Think of the love that the Father has lavished on us, by letting us be called God’s children;

and that is what we are. 1Jn 3:1

But to all who did accept Him He gave power to become children of God, to all who believe in the name of Him who was born not out of human stock or urge of the flesh or will of man but of God Himself. The Word was made flesh, He lived among us, and we saw His glory, the glory that is His as the only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth. Jn 1:12-14

Blessed be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all the spiritual blessings of heaven in Christ. Before the world was made, He chose us, chose us in Christ, to be holy and spotless, and to live through love in His presence, determining that we should become His adopted sons, through Jesus Christ for His own kind purposes, to make us praise the glory of His grace, His free gift to us in the Beloved, in whom, through His blood, we gain our freedom, the forgiveness of our sins. Such is the richness of the grace which He has showered on us in all wisdom and insight. He has let us know the mystery of His purpose, the hidden plan He so kindly made in Christ from the beginning to act upon when the times had run their course to the end: that He would bring everything together under Christ, as head, everything in the heavens and everything on earth. And it is in Him that we were claimed as God’s own, chosen from the beginning, under the predetermined plan of the One who guides all things as He decides by His own will; chosen to be, for His glory the people who would put their hopes in Christ before He came. Now you too, in Him, have heard the message of the truth and the good news of your salvation, and have believed it; and you too have been stamped with the seal of the Holy Spirit of the Promise, the pledge of our inheritance which brings freedom for those whom God has taken for His own, to make His glory praised. Eph. 1:1-14

Predetermined in a sense that God already knew His faithful, those of us who out of our own freewill chose to love Him, get to know Him, chose to believe in His Son Jesus Christ and what He stands for, in whom we have our salvation secure. Believing in His grace, our thinking, our hearts change producing our actions to bear good fruits. We become Christ-like, become adopted children of God. Having Christ in our hearts gives us the power to overcome our bad intentions and focus on His love, bringing that love to the forefront of our lives. This love in us reflects the love of God, not a superficial love but a profound love deep inside our soul. To His glory.  And so…

Because the world refused to acknowledge Him, therefore it does not acknowledge us. 1Jn 3:1

If the world hates you, remember that it hated me before you, If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you do not belong to the world, because my choice withdrew you from the world, therefore the world hates you. remember the words I said to you: A servant is not greater than His master. If they persecuted me, they will persecute you too; if they kept my word, they will keep yours as well. But it will be on my account that they will do all this, because they do not know the One who sent Me.  Jn 15:18-21

They will do these things because they have never known either the Father or Myself.  Jn 16:3

Father, Righteous One, the world has not known You but I have known You, and these have known that You have sent Me. I have made your name known to them and will continue to make it known, so that the love with which you loved Me may be in them, and so that I may be in them.  Jn 17: 25

My dear people we are already the children of God but what we are to be in the future has not yet been revealed; all we know is, that when it is revealed we shall be like Him because we shall see Him as He really is. Jn 3:2

They are the ones He chose specially long ago and intended to become true images of His Son, so that His Son might be the eldest of many brothers. He called those He intended for this; those He called He justified, and with those He justified He shared His glory.  Rom. 8:29

and He will transfigure these wretched bodies of ours into copies of His glorious body. He will do that by the same power with which He can subdue the whole universe. So then, my brothers and dear friends, do not give way but remain faithful in the Lord. Phil. 3:21- 4:1

But when Christ is revealed –and He is your life– you too will be revealed in all your glory with Him. Col. 3:4

Who are you in Christ

begins in the heart to be one with the Spirit of God. Because God, living in the Christian, is present with all His divine power for life. We all go through trials, it’s in these trials we realize how much we need His Presence in our life.
