Happy Thanksgiving!

first-thanksgiving-meal

May you all have a peaceful and loved filled Thanksgiving Day!  Giving thanks for the bounty of life’s essentials and staying true to its core. We are all one human family.

Psalm 95:1-2  Oh come, let us sing to the Lord!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
 Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving;
Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.

Ezra 3:11 And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord:

“For He is good,
For His mercy endures forever toward Israel.”

Then all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.

Luke 17:15-16  And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan.

Anyone can come to the feet of the cross and be forgiven, laying all worries and anxieties at the palm of His hands. In Him we find a spirit of love, of peace that transcends our soul, carrying this spirit forward.

1 Corinthians 14:15-17  What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding. Otherwise, if you bless with the spirit, how will he who occupies the place of the uninformed say “Amen” at your giving of thanks, since he does not understand what you say?  For you indeed give thanks well, but the other is not edified.

Those who haven’t heard of the Word cannot understand the inner strength that comes from it. Therefore we must show by example God’s love. His light shines in us.

Ephesians 5:20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Colossians 1:12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.

Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

1Timothy 2:1 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,

Hebrews 13:15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

From our mouths comes blessings and curses, lets train ourselves to refrain from the latter and spread His kindness.  Especially today, our National holiday, let it start today and everyday that follows. Our lives will be blessed when we bless.

Blessings to all, for an edifying day with family, friends, acquaintances, neighbors, strangers. We all stride for happiness in our lives, for the sharing of good company and food, for the peacefulness within, lets spread the fruits of the Spirit not its counterpart,

Galatians 5:22 … the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Ephesians 5:8-10  For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord.

Let the spirit of the day carry you onward!

choosing to be grateful!

      1. Yes, but did you enjoy it..?.. Did you enjoy the company of others or the peaceful solitude?
And if so, you either entertained others or had a mellow day. But you did ‘do’ something.. [even if it wasn’t in the kitchen 😉 ].
It’s all in how one looks at it. Blessings, always.
