Candid admission of sin

Psalm 32 +

1-2 What happiness for those whose guilt has been forgiven! What joys when sins are covered over! What relief for those who have confessed their sins and God has cleared their record.

“Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven,
And whose sins are covered;
Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.” Romans 4:7-8

Though sins fill our hearts, You forgive them all. Psalm 65:3

There was a time when I wouldn’t admit what a sinner I was, (“when I kept silence.”). But my dishonesty made me miserable and filled my days with frustration.

For my life is spent with grief,
And my years with sighing;
My strength fails because of my iniquity,
And my bones waste away. Ps 31:10

All day and all night Your hand was heavy on me. My strength evaporated like water on a sunny day  until I finally admitted all my sins to You and stopped trying to hide them. I said to myself, “I will confess them to the Lord.” And You forgave me! All my guilt is gone.

For I acknowledge my transgressions,
And my sin is always before me. Ps 51:3

Have mercy upon me, O God,
According to Your loving kindness;
According to the multitude of Your tender mercies,
Blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
And cleanse me from my sin. Ps 51:1-2

Now I say that each believer should confess his sins to God when he is aware of them, while there is time to be forgiven. Judgment will not touch him (literally, ‘When the great waters overflow they shall not reach him.’) if he does.

But as for me, my prayer is to You,
Lord, in the acceptable time;
O God, in the multitude of Your mercy,
Hear me in the truth of Your salvation. Ps 69:13

You are my hiding place from every storm of life; you even keep me from getting into trouble! You surround me with songs of victory.

The pangs of death surrounded me,
And the floods of ungodliness made me afraid.
The sorrows of Sheol surrounded me;
The snares of death confronted me.
In my distress I called upon the Lord,
And cried out to my God;
He heard my voice from His temple,
And my cry came before Him, even to His ears. Ps 18:4-6

I will instruct you (says the Lord) and guide you along the best pathway for your life; I will advise you and watch your progress.

Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
On those who hope in His mercy,
To deliver their soul from death,
And to keep them alive in famine. Ps 33:18-19

9 Don’t be like a senseless horse or mule that has to have a bit in its mouth to keep it in line!  10 Many sorrows come to the wicked, but abiding love surrounds those who trust in the Lord.

Woe to you who plunder, though you have not been plundered;
And you who deal treacherously, though they have not dealt treacherously with you!
When you cease plundering,
You will be plundered;
When you make an end of dealing treacherously,
They will deal treacherously with you.

Lord, be gracious to us;
We have waited for You.
Be [our] arm every morning,
Our salvation also in the time of trouble. Isaiah 33:1-2

11 So rejoice in Him, all those who are His, (literally, “you righteous.”, all those who try to obey him literally, “all who are upright in heart.”, and shout for joy, all those who try to obey him.)

Be candid in your admission of sin and free yourself of guilt. Our Lord is asking us to trust Him in all times. To seek Him with all our heart, mind and soul while He’s still to be found for the time is approaching when He will say ‘enough’, and will leave whoever is not with Him to their own devises/demise. Do not let yourself be caught wanting… He IS merciful to all those who come to Him in sincerity of heart.

Thank you for visiting 🙂

God bless you to come to Him of your own freewill and learn of Him from Him.
